Easter Levels - Fort William

Easter Levels - Fort William

Just to let folk know levels on the Roy and Spean this morning (Sunday 5th):

Roy - water just below quartz band at roybridge so lowish but gorge would go and the upper at a push.

Spean - two on the gauge at spean bridge, largely due to overspill on Laggan dam (although no pipes going yet).  Good level for the gorge.

Still a bit of snow to melt and according to MetCheck there are some Altantic weather systems on their way in the coming week.  Fingers crossed for some rain over the Easter holidays.  Let us know if you find water..........

Monday

Just had a report that the Lagan Dam is on 2 pipes today (Monday 6th).  Maybe it's a day for finishing work early.......

Wednesday

Spean gorge is on 2.5 (gauge at Spean Bridge).  Reckon most of this is overspill from the Laggan dam and that the pipes aren't going yet.  Roy probably fairly low too with most of the recent rain falling as new snow high up.  Forecast for lots of nice rain tomorrow though so dam should go as well as other spate runs.  Remember Garry on Friday too.

Thursday

Haven't seen it in person but based on the gauge I'd bet my creek boat that the Laggan Dam is releasing today (Thurs 9th).  On 2 pipes at least.  Enjoy!

Friday

Gauge at Spean Bridge is at 4 (08:00 Friday).  Dam will be going and after the rain their will be water in the Roy too.

Friday

Unfortunately the dam turned off pretty soon this morning :o(  but good to see so many folk out and about in the Fort.  Hope everyone had a good day on the Spean.

Saturday

Spean gauge at 3 in Spean Bridge (08:00 Saturday).  Dam must be releasing a little or some is coming over the top.  Nice level for the gorge.  Unless it rains more best other options are probably the Etive or loch fed runs which may have kept their water, Orchy, Pattack, Arkaig etc......
